Our expertise includes learning and assessment design and development, operational engineering efficiencies, data management and psychometric automation, and privacy and security, maintaining an agile project management environment.

ANAND KARAT
President and CEO
Anand leads Vretta’s entrepreneurial culture and sets the strategic direction of the company. He ensures undivided focus on our vision to support student-success through his unique innovatively now leadership style. He is the founding partner of Vretta and has an Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics from Bangalore University and an MBA in Science and Technology from Queen’s University.
CHARLES ANIFOWOSE
Vice President of Innovation
Charles leads the architectural product design and development processes at Vretta. He ensures unparalleled innovation in learning and assessment experiences for student success. He is the co-founder of Vretta, has invented numerous technology solutions, and has a Bachelor’s degree from Brock University.
ALI ALAVI
Product Director
Ali leads product design to ensure that every user has a truly meaningful and amazing learning and assessment experience. He has a Bachelor’s degree of Science from the University of Waterloo and over a decade of experience leading product design and development teams.
ARBANA MIFTARI
Director of Project Management
Arbana leads the management of projects, change, and stakeholder engagement for the development of new products. She ensures products are delivered on time and with world-class quality. She has a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies from Western University, and is a certified Project Management Professional and an Agile Certified Practitioner from the Project Management Institute.
ZACH WILLIAMS
Director of Technology
Zach leads the development and maintenance of technology solutions and security systems. He ensures the use of best practices in process efficiencies, developing scalable solutions, and maintaining high-security systems. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Queen’s University and over a decade of experience working with systems of varying sizes and complexities.
ANGELICA MENDAGLIO
Head of Instructional Design
Angelica leads the instructional design and development of learning and assessment resources. She ensures intuitive product design and seamless user experiences for our learning and assessment solutions. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Cultural Studies from Trent University and a Master of Science in Mathematics from McMaster University.
Jimmy de la Torre
Lead Psychometrician
Jimmy supports our team of assessment specialists and psychometricians by providing guidance on technical and implementation issues related to educational measurement. His expertise is in the areas of item response theory, cognitive diagnosis modeling, and designing and using assessment to inform instruction and learning, and he has published widely on these topics. Jimmy has a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and is currently Professor and Head of the Human Communication, Development, and Information Sciences Unit of the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong.
JACOB PUCAR
Head of Operations
Jacob oversees the operations with a focus on the execution and optimization of essential processes at every level of the business. By thoroughly understanding the needs of all departments, he ensures that operations are aligned with the overall goals of the organization and needs of our partners. Jacob's established operational expertise allows him to gather ongoing feedback to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement, supporting the constant evolution. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from McMaster University.
SHOEB MOZAMMEL
Director of Partnerships
Shoeb leads the partnership efforts at the company, managing and nurturing existing relationships, while looking to cultivate new ones. He ensures the company maintains strong standards of service, consistently addressing our partners’ evolving needs through dedication, compassion, and a commitment to excellence. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Management from Toronto Metropolitan University and a postgraduate in Business Communications from the University of Toronto.
FERIDE SAYIN
Human Resources Coordinator
Feride is dedicated to driving human resources initiatives with a focus on attracting top talent, enhancing employee engagement, and fostering a positive workplace culture. She gathers ongoing feedback to identify opportunities for improvement, contributing to continuous development and creating a nurturing environment for growth. She ensures that HR strategies align with organizational goals and support the well-being of all team members. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Yeditepe University and an MBA in Human Resources from University Canada West.
JOHN LADAN
Data Scientist
John leads the data and evaluation team, ensuring the quality and availability of data across analysis pipelines and applications. He is responsible for optimizing data processes and driving insights from complex datasets. He has a PhD in Experimental Physics from the University of Toronto and an M. Math and B. Math in Applied Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
